Standard Chartered has appointed Darcy Lai as regional head of origination and client coverage for greater China and Japan, wholesale banking. Based in Hong Kong, Lai will report to Sean Wallace, the bank’s group head of origination and client coverage.
In this role Lai will be responsible for enhancing the bank’s capabilities in deepening client relationships and growing the business across Japan and the greater China region.
Lai has over 20 years experience covering capital markets, investment banking and financial markets. He was most recently with Barclays Capital as head of investment banking and debt capital markets (DCM), Asia-Pacific.
