HSBC Strengthens Asia-Pacific Focus with More Senior Appointments

HSBC Global Payments and Cash Management has announced two leadership appointments in Mainland China and Thailand. These internal moves are part of the ongoing mobilisation of a highly specialised cash management team to lead the execution of HSBC’s growth strategy across the Asia-Pacific region.

Kee Joo Wong will become head of global payments and cash management, China. Wong joins the Mainland China team following a three-year tenure as head of global payments and cash management, Thailand. During his 15-year career, Wong has held various senior positions in Singapore, London, Hong Kong, and Thailand, as well as a prior appointment as head of product management in China, providing him with an understanding of market and client needs, both globally and in the Asia-Pacific region.

Assuming the role of head of global payments and cash management in Thailand is
Nigel Raymont, who was most recently based in Hong Kong as senior vice president, global strategy, global payments and cash management. Raymont has made a significant contribution to the success of the HSBC transaction banking business over the past 12 years across Europe and Asia-Pacific regions, giving him an extensive repertoire of financial experience.

In his most recent role, Raymont provided strong leadership and strategic direction to the development of the bank’s global strategy initiatives. Prior to this, he was also a sales team leader responsible for promoting domestic, regional and global multi-currency cash management solutions to multinational and institutional clients across Asia-Pacific.
