Office products supplier Office Depot /Viking is using Burns e-Commerce Solutions’ Business Exchange (beX) electronic trading service to trade with 650 regular suppliers across Europe. By December 2002 all of Office Depot/Viking’s 1000+ suppliers throughout Europe, including Spain, Switzerland and France, will be using the service. beX is a web based managed service that quickly allows a company to trade electronically with suppliers of all sizes and levels of technology readiness. Suppliers need only a PC, the internet and email access to be able to use beX and can go on to integrate the system directly with their own back-office systems. During normal trading conditions Office Depot/Viking now processes 80,000 transactions per month across Europe through beX.
