Postgirot Bank AB Appointed Clearing Bank for the Eurogiro

Postgirot Bank AB, Sweden, has been appointed as the clearing bank for the Eurogiro community’s payments in euro, effective 1 November 2001. The appointment is part of a programme to rationalise the way in which euro-denominated payments are processed between the 32 members of the Eurogiro Association. Postgirot Bank was in competition with several other European Banks. The system infrastructure for the service will be provided by mpct Solutions’ ATLAS Payments Engine. This will allow members of the Association to access payment and balance information via a standard browser.
