BASDA announces series of EMU seminars in the UK and Ireland to help businesses prepare for the arrival of Economic & Monetary Union and the introduction of the euro. The seminars will include speakers from BASDA, FEE (the European Accounting Federation), the banking associations from the UK and Ireland, IBM and other large corporate users and Ernst & Young who will talk about testing software for EMU compliance. In the UK, HM Treasury will give details of the Government’s latest initiatives and in Ireland Forfßs will outline their preparations. Also at the roadshows there will be live demonstrations from a number of leading software developers of their EMU software. Delegates attending the seminars will receive copies of the latest version of the BASDA White Paper and Specification for Application Software which is also being updated for Ireland.
